6:00 AM – Rise and Shine
My day at Total Automation Concepts, Inc. begins early. After checking my tablet for the day’s scheduled installations, I gather my tools and head to our first job site in Oak Brook.
7:30 AM – Morning Brief
Today’s project involves installing an integrated building automation system for a new commercial complex. Our team meets to review the blueprints and discuss the day’s objectives:
- HVAC control system installation
- Lighting automation setup
- Energy management system integration
- Network configuration
9:00 AM – Technical Installation
The morning is spent running cables and installing sensors throughout the building. The challenging part is ensuring all systems communicate effectively while maintaining energy efficiency.
12:00 PM – Lunch Break
A quick lunch while reviewing documentation for the afternoon’s programming tasks. Our service area spanning from Bolingbrook to Tinley Park means we need to stay efficient with our time.
1:00 PM – System Programming
The afternoon focuses on programming the building’s automation interface. This includes:
- Setting up temperature zones
- Programming lighting schedules
- Configuring motion sensors
- Establishing emergency protocols
4:00 PM – Quality Control
Before wrapping up, I conduct thorough testing of all installed systems. Working in the Chicago metropolitan area means our installations must meet strict energy efficiency standards.
5:00 PM – Documentation
The day ends with detailed documentation of the installation and scheduling follow-up maintenance visits. Tomorrow, we’re off to Naperville for another exciting project!
What I love most about working at Total Automation Concepts, Inc. is seeing how our systems make buildings smarter and more efficient, one installation at a time.
